Hashomer Hatzair France

The Hachomer Hatzair movement has been in existence for over 90 years. It was created in Galicia and was first established in France, in Paris (in the Belleville district), in 1933, by a group of young Jews of Tunisian and Polish origin. Since then, the movement has been very popular.

Continuously present at the heart of the great events that have marked the life of Jewish communities in the last century, from the fight against anti-Semitism in Eastern Europe to South Africa, to the creation of the State of Israel and its most important kibbutzim (collective villages), through its active participation in the French Resistance during the Second World War or in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943, Hachomer Hatzair is intimately linked to the Jewish people, its constructions and its hopes.
