NOA Train-the-Trainer in Barcelona: 11 New Facilitators Ready to Take On Antisemitism
05/12/2025
Barcelona, October 2025
From 19 – 23 October, NOA held its latest Train-the-Trainer programme to tackle antisemitism in Barcelona, bringing together participants from across Europe for a week of interactive learning and discussion. The aim was to equip future facilitators with the skills to challenge prejudice and discrimination against Jewish communities.
Over the course of the week, participants learned more about judaism through participatory methods, compared definitions and terminology, deconstructed antisemitic stereotypes, and put in place activities based in non-formal education.
By the end of the week, 11 new trainers completed the programme. Each of them is now prepared to design and run workshops that address antisemitism in schools, organisations, and local community spaces across the European Union.

One of the highlights was the tour with Toldot Barcelona to explore Catalan Jewish history, more specifically Barcelona’s El Call, a vibrant hub of Jewish life in the 12th – 13th centuries.

Much of the activities work was interactive, encouraging participants to reflect on their own experiences while practicing practical facilitation tools they can use in their own communities.
Why It Matters
Antisemitism continues to affect communities across Europe, and tackling it requires more than awareness – it requires people who feel confident speaking about it, recognising it, and challenging it when they see it. This training helps build exactly that: a growing network of facilitators who can support inclusion, push back against prejudice, and encourage open, informed dialogue.
With a new group of trainers, the reach of this work expands. These 11 facilitators will now carry what they learned in Barcelona back home, helping to create environments where understanding can take root and meaningful change can happen.

NOA is co-funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (2021-2027).
