NOA Conference: Hungarian Report Card

12/12/2022

On the 29th of November, Hungarian policy-makers and policy influencers from different fields and perspectives gathered at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Budapest to consider the results of the newly-released NOA Hungarian Report Card.

Attendees considered both the successes and areas of improvement that the Report Card highlighted within Hungarian policy and legislation. Overall, there is still much the Hungarian government can and should do to combat antisemitism. Despite the goodwill expressed and measures already put in place, there are areas for major improvement such as the fields of education and intercultural dialogue, which arguably have the largest impact on prejudice, particularly regarding the younger generations.

You can find the Hungarian Report Card in English here and in Hungarian here.

Anna Gáspár-Singer, who wrote theatrical scenes for the NOA conference against antisemitism in Budapest, was interviewed by Kibitzer following the NOA Hungarian Report Card Conference. In the interview, she spoke about antisemitism in Hungary and the way how the NOA conference can help raise awareness on this issue. The interview can be found here.
