Duble door Project-Progetto Doppeltür
The “Doppeltür” project aims to make the Jewish-Christian history of the Argovian Surb valley accessible and tangible. The name originates from the many double-door houses that are still found in the villages of Endingen and Lengnau. The gates are historical evidence of an extraordinary coexistence between Jewish and Christian neighbors in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. They are part of a unique cultural heritage. In 2023 a double-door house, transformed into a visitor center, will open its doors to the public in the village of Lengnau.
