The Austrian Camp Community Ravensbrück (ÖLGR)

Since its foundation in 1947, the Austrian Camp Community Ravensbrück (ÖLGR) has actively participated in commemoration and educational processes on the subject of National Socialism in Austria through survivors of the women’s concentration camp.
We inform about our history, about the women’s concentration camp Ravensbrück and the activities of the “Ravensbrückerinnen” and their friends.

In 2005, the “Ravensbrückerinnen” handed over the association’s agendas to women of the following generations and wrote a trend-setting “preamble” for the association’s statutes:

We former Ravensbrück prisoners, united in the Austrian camp community Ravensbrück, decided at the time to take young friends into our camp community because we want our activities to continue even when we old people are no longer there.
To ensure that the spirit in which the community was founded and led continues in the same direction, we based on the following principles :

1) Preserving the memory of our struggle against National Socialism, which is the worst form of fascism.

2) Defense of democracy and unconditional struggle against any form of dictatorship, against xenophobia, racism and anti-Semitism.
