Social media have democratized the internet: Today everyone can potentially reach the whole world as a broadcaster. This offers many opportunities, but also presents democracy with new challenges.
Misanthropic positions, digital attacks and disinformation are increasing on many platforms. As a result, factual disputes become impossible and users withdraw from the discussion rooms.
The aim of the three-day workshop is to strengthen the critical information skills of young people and to sensitize them to inhumane positions on the Internet and to show them options for action in dealing with hate speech, fake news and conspiracy ideologies.
