Central archive for research into the history of Jews in Germany

The central archive for researching the history of Jews in Germany was founded in 1987. It is an institution of the Central Council of Jews in Germany.

Its conception ties in with the general archive of German Jews that existed in Berlin from 1905 to 1938. The main concern is the storage and indexing of historically valuable documents from Jewish communities, associations, organizations and people. As a rule, the files are handed over to the central archive as a deposit.
